Hammock Wins Big in Tallassee’s Mayor Race
In Tallassee, Johnny Hammock won in a huge victory over his opponent George McCain with 75 percent of the vote.
Johnny Hammock got 781 to McCain’s 261 votes Tuesday evening.
Hammock says it was a grassroots effort that took a lot of people in the community to help him out.
This is Hammock’s first job with the city and first political office.
He tells us he is ready to get started.
“I just want to tell everyone in Tallassee that I will get up and go to work every day and do the best I can do. I will never rest. I will be the hardest working mayor you’ve seen in a long time. So I can’t wait to get in there. I’m just overexcited right now,” said Hammock.
Hammock will take over for outgoing mayor Bobby Payne November 7th.
