Lady Hornets’ striker & netminder named SWAC POTW
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (bamastatesports.com) – The Alabama State women’s soccer team added two more weekly honors to their 2016 mantle.
Aaliyah Lewis and Gianna Guyot have been recognized by the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) as the Offensive and Goalkeeper Players of the Week for their outstanding performance in competition during the weekend of October 7-9.
Lewis scored a combined three goals and added two assists in ASU’s 9-0 win against Grambling State on Sunday and Friday’s 3-1 victory over a previously undefeated conference team in Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
Guyot made a combined six saves and picked up a combined shutout in the two wins against Grambling State and Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
Guyot lowered her GAA to 2.08 on the season and upped her save percentage to .753.
It was her third weekly award of the season.
