Serve Alabama helps with hurricane relief

Hurricane Matthew is no longer a storm but many areas are still dealing with the damage it left behind.  Officials warn that some rivers in North Carolina are still expected to flood more as they begin to crest.

Serve Alabama is the lead organization for volunteers and donations during disasters.
They say it is important to know the most effective ways to donate and that you should always verify the organization that you are donating to.

“We ask that if you have things that you would like to get rid of and donate, have a yardsale,” explains Ashley Tiedt, “take those things, whether you sell them on the Facebook yard sales, please be safe if you do that, or if you sell them in your front yard, take that money and send it over to the different states that have been affected.”
