Shots fired at Troy University

As Troy University was wrapping up homecoming festivities this weekend someone fired shots outside of an event on campus early Sunday morning.

University officials say that the shots were fired after midnight outside of Sartain Hall.  At the time Omega Psi Phi fraternity was holding an event inside.  Officials say there was around 3000 people attending the event at the time of the shooting.

The large crowd made it even harder for police to respond.

“The scene was pretty chaotic,” explained Troy Police Chief Randall Barr, “We were trying to locate the vehicle but we didn’t really have a good vehicle description.”

Students that were inside the event, describe a very chaotic scene.

“They were trying to put my life in danger it was crazy,” they explained.
