First loss plummets Tuskegee to 20th in D2football.com poll
LIBERTY, Mo. (goldentigersports.com) — The Tuskegee University Golden Tigers dropped 10 spots in this week’s D2football.com poll following their loss to Kentucky State, however, with two games remaining in the regular season they appear in the rankings at number 20.
Tuskegee (6-1) returns to action this weekend on the road against Central State Univeristy, with kickoff set for 1 pm (est).
The Golden Tigers are one of four teams from Super Region 2 ranked in this week’s poll. They are behind North Alabama (third) and Valdosta State (15th), and ahead of UNC Pembroke (21st).
The top four remain the same from last week with defending national champion Northwest Missouri State coming in at the top spot, followed by Grand Valley State, North Alabama, Shepherd. They are joined by Sioux Falls, Emporia State, Ashland, Texas A&M-Commerce, California (Pa.) and Harding.
The next 10 include Midwestern State, Indiana (Pa.), Minnesota-Duluth, Central Missouri, Valdosta State, LIU-Post, Azusa Pacific, Ferris State, Wayne State and Tuskegee. The top 25 is rounded out by UNC Pembroke, Fairmont State, Central Washington (unranked last week), Fort Hays (unranked last week) and Assumption (unranked last week).
