Roy Moore Storms Out Of Court During Appeal Process

mooresuspended-imageSuspended Chief Justice Roy Moore entered the same court where his original case was heard about one month ago.

His lawyer started by telling officials they had a motion to continue the case, but that didn’t stop the proceedings.
So they just left the courtroom.

“This is a charade. We’ve been treated like we’re already guilty of something and the court of the judiciary said I was suspended, not removed,” said Moore.

The Alabama Supreme Court Clerks office randomly selected the names of 50 retired judges from across the state out of a box.

Seven of these judges will hear Moore’s appeal instead of his former colleagues on the Supreme Court.

That doesn’t sit well with the suspended chief justice.

“If someone is going to replace the Supreme Court if they recuse, then it should be people elected like active judges. So I object to the procedure that’s going on upstairs right now,” said Moore.

Since his suspension without pay, Moore has been asked to remove his personal property from the office and several of his staff have been fired.

He says it hasn’t been an easy time for him or his family.

“When your suspended from office as you know, you can’t get another job. So basically I’ve been suspended for two and a half years and can’t get another job. I’m still chief justice, my names’ been removed from the letter head. But it’s rather difficult on my family,” said Moore.

The next step is to contact these judges and the first seven that agree should make up the panel.
