Controversy Swirls Amid Reports of Inmate Stabbings at Dallas Co. Jail
From the West Alabama Newsroom–
Controversy is swirling between two top law enforcement officials in Dallas County after reports surface about two inmate stabbings at the county jail.
Sheriff Harris Huffman says those reports are wrong and no inmates were stabbed at the jail.
Huffman says an inmate was assaulted after a group of inmates got into a fight Tuesday morning.
The news reports list District Attorney Michael Jackson as the source behind the stabbing story.
“All the information that needs to come out, needs to come out from the sheriff’s office, from the sheriff not from somebody else about something that happened at the jail,” said Huffman.
Huffman says a criminal investigation of the incident is underway.
