Cooler Weekend Weather: Future Forecaster Kaylee Hutchingson
FOR FRIDAY: Morning clouds and perhaps a few sprinkles ahead of a cold front pushing through the state, but overall no significant rain. It will be a warm day with highs in the mid 80s. This afternoon expect a clearing sky, and breezy conditions. A Red Flag Warning is in effect from 11AM-7PM, that means breezy conditions, low relative humidity and warm temps, could mean extreme fire behavior, so no burning. Heading into the weekend, very nice weather is expected.
PLEASANT DAYS, COOL NIGHTS: Look for a nice change to cooler weather through the weekend; we project sunny pleasant days, and clear cool nights. Highs in the 70s, lows in the 40s.
TIME CHANGE: Don’t forget we go back on standard time this weekend… set the clocks back one hour before you go to bed tomorrow night. On Sunday, sunrise will come at 6:11a CST, and sunset will be at 4:50p CST.
FOOTBALL WEATHER: For round one of the high school playoff games tonight, the weather will be clear and very cool with temperatures falling through the 60s.
Auburn will host Vanderbilt Saturday (11a CT kickoff)… it will be a perfect day for football with a sunny sky… temperatures will climb from 68 at kickoff, to near 74 by the fourth quarter.
Alabama will be on the road; they play LSU Saturday night (7p CT kickoff)… the sky will be clear with temperatures falling into the 60s. A great night for football.
NEXT WEEK: The GFS is putting the idea of rain back on the table late in the week with a very deep upper trough approaching from the west, but the European model remains bone dry, and we will stick with that solution since it performs better in the medium range.
