Tallassee Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested

On November 16, investigators with the Tallassee Police Department charged Mark Joseph Colley, 33, of Goodwater, Alabama with Theft of Property First Degree and Robbery Third Degree for the November 7 robbery of the BB&T Bank branch in Tallassee, Alabama.

Colley was identified following a detailed investigation involving officers, deputies and agents from the Tallassee Police Department, Elmore County Sheriff’s Office, Alexander City Police Department, Coosa County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigations. In addition to the assisting law enforcement agencies, the Tallassee Police Department would like to recognize and thank the numerous businesses and citizens whose invaluable assistance enabled investigators to identify Colley.

Colley is currently being held in the Elmore County Jail on charges stemming from the BB&T robbery and other unrelated charges. His bond for the BB&T robbery is set at $15,000.00.
