Suspects Sought for Attempted Murder of MPD Officer

At about 8 p.m., Nov. 16,  MPD responded to Cresta Circle in reference to a stolen vehicle that was reported by Onstar as being pinpointed in that area. Cresta Circle is the Smiley Court community.

The vehicle was located and as officers approached, the vehicle moved forward towards the officers. An officer discharged his firearm at the vehicle. All the discharged rounds has been accounted for. MPD concurrently has initiated an administrative review, which is standard procedure any time an officer discharges his or her weapon. The vehicle continued past the officers and the suspects fled the vehicle on foot and are currently at large.

MPD has footage of the incident and is apart of the investigation.

The area of Cresta Circle was placed on lockdown for several hours while MPD attempted to locate the suspects. The suspects have not been located at this time. No officers were injured.

The suspects will face charges of Attempted Murder of a Police Officer.
