Montgomery Mayor Reacts to Death of Former Councilman

Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange has released a statement on the death of former Montgomery city council member Jim Spear.

Mayor Strange says, “The City of Montgomery has lost a dedicated public servant. Jim Spear provided stellar service to the families of District One for eight years as their representative on the city council and to the entire city as well.
During his terms of office, Montgomery enjoyed tremendous growth thanks in part to Jim’s vision, leadership and his constant work to move our city forward.  We send our sincere condolences to his wife Sarah and their family, during this time of loss.”

Spear passed away Tuesday.  There is no word on the cause of death.
