Thanksgiving is a holiday that encourages people to have an attitude of gratitude, and that attitude was on full display at a Selma charity Thanksgiving Day.

The Bosco Nutrition Center provided more than five hundred Thanksgiving Day meals to people in the community.

Volunteers at the center say helping to feed people who are less fortunate than they are is their way of giving back to the community and showing their gratitude for what they have.

“They are really thankful for what we are doing for them,” said Bosco Center volunteer Christopher Johnson of Selma.

“You never know where you might get your blessing from and we know our blessings come from God so, this is a blessing that we are able to feed as many people as we do.”

Charity officials say the number of meals served typically increases at Thanksgiving and remains high throughout the holiday season.
