Crews Work to Clear Storm Damage, Restore Power
A second round of storms hit Alabama. In the Montgomery area, the storm knocked down trees and power lines.
It was a busy day for utility crews restoring power and clearing debris for several residents around Montgomery Wednesday.
A large tree fell in the intersection of Felder Avenue and Boultier Street in the Old Cloverdale neighborhood. It landed on a power pole and line.
Crews worked throughout the afternoon to restore it.
On Haardt Street at Edgar D. Nixon Street, a giant tree snapped in two and it also took out a power line.
Janet McLemore says she is grateful it wasn’t any worse.
“I had told my husband about a million times the tree was going to fall. And he always told me no it was not. And then when it actually did fall and didn’t fall on my house, I… just felt incredibly blessed,” said McLemore.
Nearly 150,000 Alabama Power customers were impacted by two nights of severe storms. All power should be restored by Wednesday evening.
