Dry this afternoon, but rain returns this weekend!
We are in store for a very pleasant Friday afternoon. We will continue to see virtually cloudless skies. Afternoon highs will be in the mid-60s. Tonight will again be chilly, with most spots dropping into the upper 30s to around 40. A change to our weather pattern comes our way on Saturday.
We will likely see plenty of cloudcover across the area Saturday morning. Rain will hold off until the afternoon to evening hours, although it now looks like most of the rainfall will be to the north of the River Region on Saturday evening. However, rain should increase in coverage during the overnight hours Saturday into early Sunday. Sunday looks to be a rather wet day, with rain likely throughout the day. Its possible that we pick up 1-3″ of rain Sunday. Afternoon highs will be around 60 for Saturday and Sunday. Overnight lows will be around 50.
The rainy weather continues on Monday. A low pressure center will lift from the Gulf towards northwest Alabama. This will provide better Atmospheric lift, and increase our chance for Thunderstorms. At this time it looks like this will not be a severe weather event, but we could see a few stronger thunderstorms. T’storms and rain continue for most of the day Monday into Monday night. By Tuesday, we start to dry out. We may have a few lingering showers in the morning, but will be dry by the afternoon when a “cold” front moves through the area.
There will not be much of a cooldown behind the front. Highs for Tuesday and Wednesday will be in the 60s to around 70. However, another chance for rain ahead of another cold front arrives on Thursday. Behind this front, we will get a significant shot of cold air. We may not make it out of the 40s on Friday afternoon, and next weekend may be very cold as well.
