Man Dies Following Crash at Troy Highway-Taylor Road Intersection

Around 4 p.m. Thursday, December 1, Montgomery Police and Fire Medics responded to the intersection of Troy Highway and Taylor Road in reference to a two-vehicle collision. The collision resulted in a fatality. The crash involved a 1988 Buick Regal and a 2008 Chevy Equinox.

The driver of the Buick Regal was 92-year old, Dan Hataway. The Montgomery man was transported to Baptist Medical Center South where he later was pronounced dead. The driver of the Chevy Equinox was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

MPD’s initial investigation indicates the Buick Regal was traveling northbound on Troy Highway and the Chevy Equiox was turning from Taylor Road onto Troy Highway when the two collided.

Accident investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash, and no further information is available for release at this time.
