Arctic Blast Just a Couple Days Away!

It was cloudy and cool this morning across the river region. Temperatures have struggled to climb so far today due to the cloud cover. Expect mostly cloudy skies (with a few raindrops) and highs around 60 this afternoon. The clouds stick around tonight, but thanks to northwesterly winds already bringing in some cooler air, temps fall into the lower 40s.

Another cold front will bring an Arctic airmass into the River Region Thursday. The front will arrive between the late morning to early afternoon hours. Highs will still be in the 50s on Thursday, but it will be Thursday night when the cold will really begin to be felt. Clearing skies Thursday night will allow temperatures to fall into the upper 20s by Friday morning. Friday will be a cold day. Even with sunny skies, highs will only be in the mid-40s. Friday night will likely be our coldest night. Expect temperatures to be in the mid 20s on Saturday morning. Highs for Saturday afternoon will be around 50 under sunny skies.

It will become a bit more mild to close out the weekend. Surface winds will become southerly again by Sunday, resulting in highs in the 60s for Sunday afternoon. This will also introduce some moisture back into the atmosphere. Additionally, rain chances come back into the forecast to start next week. It looks like it will be somewhat of an unsettled weather pattern, with chances for rain on both Tuesday and Wednesday as well.
