Hundreds Attend Wetumpka’s Christmas on the Coosa 2016
People in Wetumpka spent Saturday getting into the Christmas spirit with their annual Christmas on the Coosa event.
The family event featured dozens of vendors and plenty of food. For many people, Christmas on the Coosa has become a tradition. Coordinators say the event is a great time for Christmas shopping and a time to discover local businesses. People attending believe shopping locally with those businesses helps the city of Wetumpka continue to grow.
“When you buy local you’re putting money back into the local economy and I think it’s really good to support people who are making things for themselves, who are making money for their families. I just think it’s a great event to come to,” says Wetumpka resident Christina Smithson.
Christmas on the Coosa ended with the city’s Christmas parade, followed by a wakeboard show in historic downtown.
