Bibb Co. Teacher Facing Sex Charges Involving Students

A Bibb County high school teacher is facing sex charges involving three students during the last five years.

It’s reported that Michael Jones, 43, was arrested Tuesday. He’s charged with one count of a school employee having sex with a student under the age of 19, and two counts of a school employee having sexual contact with a student under the age of 19.

County prosecutor Michael Jackson says Jones, who works at West Blocton High School, is accused of being sexually involved with three different female students, dating back to 2011, with the most recent during the 2015-2016 school year.

Bibb County Superintendent Terry McGee said in a statement that Jones has been on administrative leave since the investigation began in September.

It’s unclear if Jones has an attorney.
