Cold and Wet Sunday Night Ahead
Showers will continue through this evening for much of the river region. The rain will end from northwest to southeast, while temperatures continue to fall. Cold air will continue to work into the river region, and overnight lows are expected to fall into the lower to mid 30s, with slightly warmer lows southeast. Showers will be possible across our southeastern counties through tomorrow morning. Everyone should be drying out by tomorrow afternoon, but skies will likely remain overcast. The cloudcover keeps us cool on Monday, with highs in the upper 40s. Monday night lows will be in the lower 40s. More clouds than sun likely on Tuesday, with highs in the upper 50s.
Sunny skies should return by Wednesday. High temps will be more mild in the lower 60s. It looks like we will have a slight chance for rain by Thursday, but this remains uncertain. A front moves through Thursday night into Friday morning, bringing us close to freezing temps by Friday morning. Friday will be cool with highs in the mid-50s and mostly sunny skies.
Right now, the holiday weekend looks pretty good. Could be chilly Christmas Eve morning, with lows in the mid 30s, but afternoon highs in the lower 60s. Highs will be in the mid 60s for Christmas Day, and no rain is expected next weekend at this time.
