City Council Appoints New Police Chief in Tallassee

The Tallassee City Council voted Wednesday to appoint Matt Higgins as the city’s new police chief.

Higgins worked for the Montgomery Police Department for 22 years before retiring last year.  He also has worked for the Autauga County Sheriff’s Office and is a veteran of the Air Force.
