Unseasonably Warm Days Ahead
Monday was a beautiful day, and the weather only gets better for today. The sky will remain full of sunshine, and temperatures will be about ten degrees warmer, so upper 60s and lower 70s are expected. I will certainly take that on the final day of January.
HELLO FEBRUARY: The new month begins just the way January ends, mainly sunny and unseasonably warm. Wednesday will start off in the lower 40s, but highs in the mid to upper 60s and lower 70s are expected. We note the month of February can have notoriously cold temperatures and winter weather issues, so we still have a lot of winter left, but hopefully we can make it through the month with no significant winter issues. Also, February can have its fair share of severe weather, but through the first week of the month, no real weather issues appear to be in store for Alabama.
MORE CLOUDS, A FEW SHOWERS: We will introduce the chance of showers Thursday with a cold front moving in from the north, but moisture will be limited and rain amounts will be light. This front will stall across Central Alabama, and north of the front it will be cooler with highs in the 50s, south of the front, 60s will be widespread. With a stalled front across the state, we will keep the chance of rain in the forecast for Friday with highs in the lower to mid 60s for most of us.
WETTER WEEKEND WEATHER: Clouds will persist across the state, but for the most part Saturday looks to stay dry and cool, with highs in the lower 60s. On Sunday, our next storm system will move into the state, and we should rain move in from the west and overspread the state ahead of a cold front. The good news is that severe weather is not expected at this time, but beneficial rain is possible. The rain should continue into early Monday for portions of the state, before exiting and cooler and drier weather moves into for the first half of next week.
Have a Terrific Tuesday!
Ryan
