Colder and Blustery Today, Before A Warmer Weekend
The cold front has pushed through the area overnight and has brought a cold snap to end the work week. Today should be mainly sunny, with blustery conditions and colder temperatures. Highs will only be in the upper 50s, and a brisk northwest wind, it will be feeling much colder. We drop to near freezing by early tomorrow morning. Then, the rest of tomorrow, it will be sunny and cool with a high in the mid 60s.
WARMER WEEKEND WEATHER: Noticeably warmer this weekend with a mainly sunny sky, that will allow temperatures to climb back into the mid and upper 70s Saturday afternoon. Saturday will be dry, but a few showers look possible across northern portions of the state. Clouds will increase Sunday, and there could be a few showers over North/Central Alabama Sunday afternoon, but most of South/Central Alabama should be remain dry. Sunday’s high will be in the upper 70s for most of us.
NEXT WEEK: We will hold on to the risk of a few scattered showers Monday, but the next widespread rain comes Wednesday and Wednesday night as a deep surface low moves right over Alabama. For now it looks like any severe weather threat will be confined to the far southern counties of the state, and rain amounts in the one inch range look likely. Cooler air returns following the rain Thursday and Friday.
Have a great day!
Ryan
