Drying Out and Warming Up to Close the Weekend!
Rain totals were very light Saturday, around a tenth of an inch or less across the area. Skies are clearing late this afternoon across the southern counties, but patchy cloud cover is still around for areas along and north of I-85. Temperatures will be fairly mild tonight, falling steadily to around 50 by sunrise Sunday. The central and south Alabama sky will be mostly clear by Sunday afternoon. Temperatures will be very warm for this time of the year, topping out in the mid 70s.
It will be a mild start to the work-week. Monday morning lows will be around 50, but temps will be in the mid 70s for the afternoon. Skies will be mostly clear. A few showers will be in the area Tuesday through Wednesday with a bit more cloud cover. The area dries out on Thursday, before another system impacts us Friday into Saturday with the possibility of rain. Overall though, the week ahead will be dominated by highs in the mid 70s (possibly even some near 80° readings) and lows in the mid to upper 50s.
Temperatures will be cooler on the backside of the Friday/Saturday storm system, with highs in the 60s Saturday and Sunday.
