More Near-Record Warmth Ahead
(Check out our Facebook page – search Alabama Weather Network or Meteorologist Ben Lang for tonight’s video forecast)
A few of our locations hit the 80 degree mark this afternoon. Tonight, skies remain clear with a gradual temperature drop to around 50 by sunrise Monday. Very warm February weather continues this week. Monday afternoon highs will again be in the upper 70s to around 80 under mostly sunny skies. Clouds begin to increase on Tuesday ahead of our next storm system. Rain becomes more likely by Tuesday afternoon and evening. It should still be very warm Tuesday, with mid to upper-70 high temperatures. A few showers will linger into Wednesday morning, but clearing is expected for the afternoon. Wednesday afternoon highs will be in the mid and upper 70s.
Our warmest day could actually be Thursday. Looks like the central and south Alabama sky will be clear Thursday afternoon, helping temperatures warm into the low 80s. Another disturbance rolls our way Friday into Saturday. This system will bring the area rain and more seasonable weather. Right now, looks like high temperatures on Saturday will only be in the mid 60s, with upper 60s possible Sunday. We may also see some upper 30 degree temperature readings next Sunday morning.
This week, we will see our overnight lows go from the lower 50s early in the week, into the upper 50s to near 60 by the middle of the week.
