When preparing for severe weather, there are items that you do not want to forget. We stopped by Montgomery’s Home Depot to find out what those items are. They are making it easy for people to find much needed items that are needed for any occasion.
“You will need a flashlight, a weather radio, probably a rain jacket that we sell as well, maybe some gloves in case you have to get out and move some things,” says Will Kelley, Assistant Store Manager.
Kelley says while everything is important to include batteries are the most important.
“The most important would be your batteries and what you want to do is don’t get a four pack of batteries you want to make sure you’re going to get something that lasts like a 30 to 36 count.”
He says it’s best to be prepared at all times, placing the items in a central location in your home.
“That way if the weather is bad, you’ll already have those things prepared so that way you’re not trying to gather those things together in case something bad does happen,” says Kelley.
If customers aren’t quite sure what to include in their kit, employees can quickly put together a list for them. It cuts down on the concerns that many people have on what to include.
“Just making sure they have everything they need to be prepared is the main concern that customers have, “Is hey is this everything I would need to be prepared for a storm,” says Kelley.
He says it’s also important to keep all items for your survival kit together at all times.
“With all this product, it fits easily in the bucket, so if you just wanted to have this in a corner for a safe place and just keep this-it’s not that big so all this product will fit down there and then that way you know and you can also write weather supplies that way if you have any problems you’re covered and you know how to just go to your bucket to have everything taken care of.”
