Bridge Crossing Jubilee Will Go On in Selma
From the West Alabama Newsroom–
The Bridge Crossing Jubilee starts today with some changes.
The controversy between Jubilee organizers and the city of Selma over $23,000 dollars in fees has caused one Jubilee event to be cancelled.
Organizers say there won’t be a Children’s Sojourn over the bridge this year.
They say the music festival has been moved to the other side of the bridge just outside of the city limits.
“We have decided to relocate the entire music festival to the Montgomery side of the Edmund Pettus Bridge on private property so there will be no city interference,” said Jubilee Co coordinator Sam Walker.
Walker says the Jubilee parade and the Bridge Crossing reenactment will go on as planned.
