R.C. Hatch Falls 54-40 to Lanett in 2A State Championship Finals

Emanuel Littles had 14 points and 15 rebounds to lead Lanett to its second straight Class 2A state championship Friday with a 54-40 victory over R.C. Hatch.

Anquaevious Pollard added 13 points and 11 boards for Lanett (24-7), which won its first title last season. The Panthers scored 12 straight points after Venantris Lipscomb’s dunk cut the deficit to 42-40 with 2:59 left.

R.C. Hatch (24-3) was seeking its 11th state championship and first since 2008, but was outrebounded 45-25.

Pollard was named the tournament’s MVP. Littles made 6 of 9 shots for Lanett. Jalen Madden scored 11 points.

Tyler Rhone’s 12 points led R.C. Hatch. Antwan Powell added seven points and six rebounds while Freddie Ward had five assists to go with six points.

Lanett scored 21 points off 17 offensive rebounds.
