From the West Alabama Newsroom–
The men’s and women’s basketball teams at Concordia College Alabama in Selma pull off a rare feat in college athletics.
Both teams have brought home a national championship this year.
The Lady Hornets defeated Berea College to win the women’s championship for the second year in a row.
The Hornets beat the Illinois Institute of Technology to win the men’s title after falling short in the championship game last year.
“We put a lot of work in that year. We had a lot of challenge that year. We was disciplined. It was just, it wasn’t our year, said CCA shooting guard Ryan Watson.
“We did the same thing we did last year. Put the same preparation in and this time it worked,” said CCA shooting guard Ryan Watson.
The CCA men’s team finished the season with a record of 21 and 7.
The CCA women’s team finished up at 25 and 4.
