Rain is already falling across our northern counties, but so far its been dry from the Highway 80/ I-85 corridor southward. Through the evening though, we will see rain move further south as temperatures fall.

A chilly rain continues for most of the area through the overnight hours. Lows will be in the mid 40s, with a few locations falling into the low 40s. Most of the rain will transition to southeast Alabama by late Sunday morning, and clearing the area by the afternoon. A mostly cloudy sky and cool temperatures will linger, Sundays highs will be in the upper 50s to around 60.

Monday morning will start off on the chilly side, with temps in the low to mid 40s. A mostly cloudy sky with a few passing showers will prevail through the day. Highs will only be in the upper 50s. A better chance for rain arrives in the evening, especially across the northeast ahead of a cold front. This front moves through in the early AM hours of Tuesday, and it will bring an extended period of winter-like temperatures for much of next week. Tuesdays highs will be in the upper 50s, with lower 50s expected on Wednesday.

The cooler airmass settling over the area will also result in overnight lows in the 30s for much of next week, and upper 20s are even possible on Thursday morning. A gradual warming trend is expected towards the end of the week, but we may also see another front move through next weekend, bringing another chance for rain and keeping high temperatures rather cool.
