Random, Hit or Miss Afternoon Storms
MONDAY WILL BE DRY FOR SOME, STORMS FOR OTHERS: Afternoon highs will be in the lower 90s with a few locations briefly touching the mid-90s. Rain chances will range from 20-50% from north to south. Any shower or storm activity should quiet down by nightfall across most of the area with only a slight chance of a shower lingering in the southeastern parts of the area. Lows will be down in the upper 60s to the lower 70s.
MUCH OF THE SAME STORY FOR TUESDAY: Scattered showers and storms will once again be more possible. The sky will be mostly clear to start but becoming partly cloudy by the afternoon, with highs topping out in the lower 90s, while rain chances will be 30-40%.
THE REST OF THE WEEK: Wednesday and Thursday will be the driest days of the week as the ridging shifts even more eastward through the area, keeping our isolated shower and storm chances down in the 10-20% range. Highs will be in the lower to mid-90s both days. Friday will feature scattered to numerous showers and storms across the area as a couple of troughs will move through the region. Moisture will be advected into the area due to those troughs, and we’ll have an unstable airmass over Central Alabama. At this point, rain chances will be over 60% for much of the area. Highs on both days will be in the upper 80s to the lower 90s.
THE WEEKEND AHEAD: Rain chances continue to look elevated throughout the weekend, as scattered to numerous showers and storms remain possible due to the very moist and unstable airmass. Highs on both days will be in the upper 80s to the lower 90s.
Have a great day!
Ryan
