Local School Closings & Delays

The threat for severe weather on Thursday has prompted some local school systems to delay the start of classes or to close.

Here is the latest list:

Bullock County Schools – closed

Coosa County Schools – two-hour delay

Crenshaw County Public Schools – closed

Crenshaw Christian Academy – closed

Chilton County Schools – two-hour delay

East Memorial Christian Academy – open at 10 AM

Hale County Schools – two-hour delay

Hooper Academy – open at 10 AM

LEAD Academy – open at 10 AM

Lee County Schools – closed

Linden City Schools –  open 10 AM

Lowndes Academy – open at 10 AM

Lowndes County Schools – two-hour delay

Macon County Schools  – closed

Marengo County Schools – open at 10 AM

Montgomery Public Schools – open at 10 AM

*MPS buses are scheduled to be at bus pickup locations at 8:30 AM

Maxwell AFB Elementary and Middle School – two-hour delay

New Hope Academy – open at 10 AM

Pike Liberal Arts School (Troy) – closed

Prattville Christian Academy – open at 10 AM

The Rock School – Closed

Tallapoosa County Schools – open at 10 AM

Troy City Schools – closed

Valiant Cross Academy – open at 10 AM

 

Colleges/Universities: 

Alabama State University – open at 11 AM

Canterbury Technical Academy – closed

Trenholm State Community College – open at 10 AM – Faculty & Staff reports at regular time

Wallace Community College (Selma) –  open 10 AM

Wilcox County Schools – open 10 AM
