Update: Suspect Cleared of Possible Theft Charges

UPDATE: Wetumpka police have notified CrimeStoppers that Daniel Hendricks visited the Wetumpka Police Department in reference to an investigation into the fraudulent use of a debit card. After speaking with investigators, police say Hendricks is no longer a suspect.

Investigators say they told Hendricks that he was initially listed as a suspect due to a timestamp error on the victim’s bank statements.   Wetumpka police say no criminal charges were ever made against Mr. Hendricks.

Police say the investigation is still ongoing.

They say that between April 13 and April 15, an unknown male suspect made several purchases at different businesses in Wetumpka.  He used a stolen debit card to make the purchases. If and when identified, the suspect will be charged with Theft of Property Second Degree and Fraudulent Use of a Debit Card.

If you can help in the investigation, Wetumpka police ask that you immediately call them or CrimeStoppers using the 24-hour tip line at (334) 215-STOP.
