Group Wants Confederate Statue Removed from Tuskegee City Square

Johnny Ford, with the Historic Black Towns and Settlements Alliance, held a press conference in reference to the confederate statue in the Tuskegee City Square. He wants the statue to be moved from that area.

Over the weekend the confederate statue was vandalized with obscene words and gestures using spray paint.

HBTSA says they don’t condone this type of vandalism of the statue, but they do support it being lawfully and respectfully removed.

The statue is owned by the daughters of the Confederacy.
