Montgomery County Leaders Requesting Businesses Require Patrons to Wear Masks After Spike in COVID-19 Cases

On Tuesday, June 16, Mayor Steven L. Reed, Montgomery County Commission Chairman Elton Dean, Pike Road Mayor Gordon Stone and other local leaders held a press conference in response to the recent spike in COVID-19 cases in Montgomery County. Montgomery County has the highest number of positive coronavirus cases in the state. 

In response to the large spike in numbers, city leaders are requesting that stores and businesses require customers to wear masks or face coverings.

Nearly 40% of the COVID-19 cases in Montgomery County came in last 14 days.
