Alabama Man Arrested in Decade-Old Gunshot Killing
MOBILE, Ala. (AP) – A man has been charged with murder in a killing that went unsolved for more than a decade in Mobile. Police say 26-year-old Labaron Tyrell Lockhart is charged in the death of 62-year-old William Willett. Willett was found suffering from a gunshot wound along a street near downtown on May 2, 2011, and died later at a hospital. Police say investigators believed he was shot during a robbery, and the gunman drove off in Willet’s car. Authorities didn’t say what led them to arrest Lockhart, who was 16 at the time of the shooting. Court records weren’t immediately available to show whether he had a lawyer.
