UPDATE: Prattville Police Charge Man with Murder after Assault Victim Dies

UPDATE: Prattville police say they have now charged a man with murder after the victim in an assault investigation died.

Police say Michael Slayton is charged with murder and is being held on a $250,000 bond.

Originally, he had been charged with domestic violence assault.

Police say on Friday, they responded to 257 Hwy 82 Bypass E. in Prattville on an assault call.  Police arrested Slayton. Police say the victim was taken to Baptist Medical Center South for emergency treatment and was in critical condition before dying of injuries.

The victim’s name hasn’t been released.
