UPDATE: Montgomery Man Charged with Shooting Incidents in Alabama, Georgia

UPDATE: Investigators say a suspect in a string of shooting incidents in Alabama and Georgia has been arrested in LaFayette, Alabama.
Auburn police say a driver was shot in the head through his back window on Interstate 85 northbound at around 6:15 this morning. The victim is a 45-year-old Prattville man, who was flown to a Montgomery hospital in critical condition.
His name hasn’t been released.
Police then began a search for the suspect’s car, a white Cadillac. That search involved putting the information on the National Crime Information computer system that spread it throughout the southeast.
Later, sheriff’s deputies in Troup County, Georgia, said someone in a white Cadillac had fired and hit a car just before 8 this morning on I-85.

This afternoon, investigators say that white Cadillac was found in Lafayette, Alabama, near the Chambers County Courthouse, by a Chambers County deputy.
They say the man inside — 39-year-old Jerel Raphael Brown of Montgomery — was arrested and turned over to Auburn police.
He faces charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, shooting into an occupied vehicle and criminal damage in the first degree.
Auburn police say Brown had with him a cadre of guns and about 2,000 rounds of ammunition. Police do not have a motive for the shootings.
He is being held without bond.
A similar shooting incident happened in Montgomery on Interstate 85 about one hour before the shooting in Auburn, but no other information has been released about it.
