Former Auburn Baseball Player named the Royals Minor League Player of the Year

Former Auburn Pitcher, Mason Barnett, has been named the Kansas City Royals Minor League Player of the Year by Baseball American.

Barnett made 23 starts in his first full season since being drafted in 2022. During those 23 starts, Barnett recorded a 3.30 ERA, and 137 strikeouts during 114.2 innings.

Barnett began the season in High-A Quad Cities and then was promoted to Double-A Northwest Arkansas.

After playing at Auburn for three years (2020-22), the Royals Organization drafted him in the third round of the 2022 MLB Draft.
