Assaults reported at Wetumpka High School, investigation launched

Reports of assaults at Wetumpka High School are now under  investigation.

The Elmore County Board of Education says it is helping officials at Wetumpka High School in investigating the alleged  assaults, which were reported last Thursday.

The school board says The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, or FERPA,  prevents it from being able to comment on any disciplinary action of students. 

Action 8 News contacted Elmore County School Supt. Richard Dennis, who said more information may be released at a later date.
