Pine Hill police searching for suspect wanted for attempted murder

Pine Hill police are on the lookout for a man wanted on first-degree assault/attempted murder charges.

Police say a warrant has been issued for 39-year-old Gary Kendall Brown, Sr.

Police Chief Nikisha Gailes told Action 8 News that she received a call this morning at around 9:30AM that 51-year-old Carrie Simon had been shot on Wilcox County Road 18. Gailes says Simon was taken to J. Paul Jones Hospital in Camden and then flown to another hospital for treatment.

Brown is described as being about 5’10” tall and 170 pounds. Gailes says he was last seen driving east on County Road 18 in a gray 2021 Kia K5 with Alabama license plate #A0W97T.

She says they have information that he may be traveling outside of the Wilcox County area. He is considered to be armed and dangerous.
