ACTION 8 UPDATE: Two people indicted in 2018 shooting death in Montgomery

Montgomery police have announced two indictments in the shooting death of a man on Monticello Drive in 2018.

Police say 21-year-old Lonnie Helms III of Montgomery and 24-year-old Kennedy Wilson of Montgomery have been indicted on one count of capital murder and one count of second-degree assault. 

As Action 8 News has reported, 28-year-old Steven White, Jr. of Montgomery was shot in the 5900 block of Monticello Drive just after midnight on November 24, 2018. He was pronounced dead at the scene, while another person was injured.

Police say Helms was taken into custody today, while Wilson was already being held by the Department of Corrections on unrelated charges.  

Police have released no other information.
