Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama makes big donation to United Way
Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama and its employees have made a big donation to the United Ways of Alabama.
HMMA presented a check for more than $360,ooo at a ceremony on Thursday morning. This is the 20th year that the plant has supported United Way.
Over the years, HMMA has donated more than $5 million to United Ways in Alabama.
“We never take these funds for granted,” Jannah Bailey, the president of the River Region United Way said. “We know that everybody out here works very hard. We all are in kind of the same boat. We’ve seen needs go up in our community and that’s our neighbors, and our family members and people we go to church with and work with. So we know that it’s not just those other people who need our support now, but they are closer to home than we’ve ever seen it before.”
HMMA employees donated more than $290,000 to United Way, with Hyundai itself donating another $70,000.
