Montgomery Fire Rescue battles Sunday house fire
Five Montgomery Fire Rescue units battled a house fire Sunday morning in the Capitol City. Just before 10am, crews responded to the 1600 Block of West Street. When they arrived, firefighters saw heavy smoke coming from a single story home. Crews found the fire and extinguished it. One resident was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation, but the person refused further treatment and did not want to be transported to a local hospital. There were no other reports of injuries to civilians or firefighters. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
