Cloudy & Wet For A Few More Days

Our cloudy and wet weather pattern will be sticking around for most of this week. It will the weekend before we see any decent amount of sunshine. In the meantime, keep the rain gear handy.
Currently, we are sitting between an area of low pressure over the northwestern gulf and high pressure centered over the carolinas. This puts us in a spot for clouds and rain at times. The low pressure system will take its time moving across the northern gulf. It will pump gulf moisture into the state and provide some much needed rain for our area. Rainfall potential between Tuesday and Wednesday will range between 1 to 3 inches. Heavier amounts will be across our southern most counties. Temperatures through midweek will hover in the 60s for highs and lows in the upper 40s to lower 50s. The low exits to the east of us Thursday and we begin to trend drier.
Late week is setting up to be drier and a little warmer. A frontal boundary will approach Friday but moisture will be limited and it passes through mainly dry. Afternoon high temps will manage upper 60s to lower 70s ahead of the boundary. It’s looking like a fairly nice weatherwise going into the upcoming weekend.
The weekend will look a lot brighter with sunshine returning in full force. High temps will hover around 70 degrees both days. Nights will be a bit cooler with lows in the lower 40s. Mostly sunny and dry conditions will spill over into Monday but more rain heads our way Tuesday into the middle of next week.
