Clouds increase Monday; Storms Monday night into Tuesday
It was a wonderful weekend with sunshine across central and south Alabama. Morning lows were in the mid to upper 30s in many locations Sunday. Afternoon temperatures warmed into the 70s. Sunday night looks mostly clear and cool with lows in the mid 40s. Clouds increase Monday, with showers possible late in the day into the evening. More substantial rain and storms arrive late Monday night into Tuesday morning.
The storm prediction center includes west Alabama within a marginal (level 1/5) severe risk Monday night. All of our area lies within a marginal (level 1/5) severe risk Tuesday. Strong wind gusts and perhaps a brief tornado are the primary severe hazards. Rain amounts could total between 1 and 2 inches across all of our area with locally higher amounts. Rain and storms taper off and depart Tuesday afternoon.
The rest of this week trends cooler and could be drier. However, some clouds may linger Wednesday, Thanksgiving, and Black Friday. Rain appears possible late Thanksgiving into black Friday morning. Temperatures warm into the low 60s with lows in the low 40s. Saturday and Sunday could be rain free, but may remain mostly cloudy. Afternoon temperatures reach the low 60s with lows in the low 40s each day.
