City of Montgomery announces events to remember Rosa Parks, Montgomery Bus Boycott
The city of Montgomery has released a list of events to remember the 68th anniversary of the arrest of Rosa Parks, which led to the Montgomery Bus Boycott.
It was on December 1, 1955 that Parks was arrested for refusing to give up her seat on a Montgomery city bus to a white passenger. That led to a boycott of city buses, which lasted for more than a year and became a key event in the Civil Rights Movement.
