Rain, some storms Friday, Saturday, a few strong to severe
After several dry, cold days with sunshine, clouds, rain and some storms return Friday. Rain was already scattered across our area prior to sunrise. Additional rounds of rain and some storms affect our area through the rest of the morning and into the afternoon. A few storms may become strong to marginally severe. However, for most of us, rain/storm activity remains non-severe.
The storm prediction center maintains a marginal (level 1/5) severe risk Friday across south Alabama, near and south of highway 80. A brief tornado or damaging wind gust up to 60 mph cannot be ruled out. There may be a lull in showers and storms late Friday afternoon through Friday evening. However, clouds linger and temperatures remain mild. Another round of rain with some storms arrives Friday night and lasts through Saturday morning.

Rain finally tapers off Sunday afternoon. However, the sky remains mostly cloudy. Although, afternoon temperatures reach the low 70s Sunday. Sunday night turns cooler, with lows in the upper 40s.
Next week begins mild with highs in the upper 60s Monday, despite a mostly cloudy sky. Monday remains rain-free. The rest of the week looks rain-free too, likely with more sunshine in the mix. However, temperatures turn cooler. High temperatures range from the upper 50s to low 60s Tuesday through Friday. Overnight lows fall into the 30s Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday night.
