Two people have been killed in a crash on Interstate 65 in Autauga County that involved a tractor-trailer truck, two pickup trucks and a car.

Alabama State Troopers say 72-year-old Kevin Olson and 73-year-old Lilly Olson of Princeton, Illinois, were both pronounced dead at the scene.

State troopers say they were in a pickup that was involved in a head-on crash with a tractor-trailer truck. 62-year-old Alfred Giles of Mobile was driving the tractor trailer, state troopers say.

Investigators say before those two vehicles collided, the tractor trailer hit a car, driven by 68-year-old Leander Robinson of Greenville, in the rear. The tractor trailer then crossed the median and struck the Olsens’ pickup truck head-on. Their pickup was then struck in the rear by another pickup driven by 75-year-old Steven Olbert of Oostburg, Wisconsin.

The crash happened around 9:37AM Friday on Interstate 65 near the 197 mile marker, approximately three miles south of Verbena, in Autauga County.
