CVS/Pharmacy says it will soon close its store at the corner of Atlanta Highway and Taylor Road.

Officials with the pharmacy chain confirm to Action 8 News that the store at 6990 Atlanta Highway will close on December 14.

All prescriptions will be transferred to the CVS Pharmacy located at 55 Ray Thorington Road, but officials say patients can always choose to fill their prescriptions at another CVS Pharmacy, or a pharmacy of their choice.

While they did not give a reason for the closure, officials say maintaining access to pharmacy services in the communities they serve is an important factor they consider when making store closure decisions. Other factors include local market dynamics, population shifts, a community’s store density, and ensuring there are other geographic access points to meet the needs of the community.

CVS Pharmacy says there are nine locations remaining in Montgomery.
