MPD: Suspect charged in September homicide

23arrestcrimesceneMontgomery police have charged a suspect in a September homicide case.

Officials say 32-year-old Darren Price, of Montgomery, is charged with murder, two counts of first degree robbery, certain person forbidden to possess a firearm and first degree arson.

Price is accused of killing 39-year-old Jacqueline Best, of Montgomery, on September 24 in the 3500 block of Fairground Road.

Police say they were called to the home around 5:30 a.m. in response to a fire. Once they arrived, they found the body of Best in the home.

An autopsy revealed Best died of a gunshot wound.

Police also say Price was also identified as the suspect in two robberies that occurred on December 3rd and December 6th.

Price is currently in the Montgomery County Detention Facilty on no bond.
